The South’s Biggest Boy Band raising the roof for Bournemouth Hospital Charity

Bournemouth Male Voice Choir are organising the largest Male Choir ever to sing in Poole, aiming to raise more than £10,000 for the Bournemouth Hospital Charity.  The Concert, of 400 Voices, will take place on Saturday 27 April 2019 December 2017 at the Lighthouse Concert Hall in Poole.

The concert will be the culmination of choral competition held in the Lighthouse during the daytime on 27 April where ten men’s choirs from all over the UK will compete for a £1000 first prize. This evening concert will see all 400 voices sing in a combined choir and the three top choirs will also perform “solo sets”. Bournemouth Male Voice Choir will sing a set of their music too.

Bournemouth Male Voice Choir have an International reputation for innovative programming with a collection of competition prize wins under their belt.  Their Musical Director, Mark Burstow said, “This contest and concert is aimed to show the social and artistic value in the men’s choir genre; 400 choristers on stage, singing in common purpose will be a wonderful advertisement for choral singing for men.”

The participating choirs are traveling from as far afield as the Midlands and South Wales as well as from across the South of England.  Bournemouth Male Voice Choir’s Development Manager, Malcolm Jenkins said “There are some tickets still available but only around 150, the Lighthouse has great sightlines from every seat so snap up those last few quickly”
