French Connection

limousinDuring the summer, a Camerata group flew from Southampton to perform 4 concerts in Limousin, France and local press coverage of the performances continues! It was a fantastic trip, organised by our very own Concert Sectretary, Pierre, whose efforts in the months leading up to the tour were rewarded by some memorable performances. We were very warmly received by the audiences, who now have a number of CDs to remember us bTour Poster for Limousin 2014y!

The group managed to pack in a fair amount of sightseeing also in between concerts, using an ‘Italian Job’ / ‘Wacky Races’ style of travel, finding their way along French country roads in a variety of vehicles to various destinations, including a trip to the striking Chateau de Val.

Muriel and Gilles, our hosts at the Meymacois Hotel were also very generous and pulled out all the stops to prepare the group an evening meal once they’d lost power following a thunderstorm! We were really grateful to have received wonderful hospitality from our hosts and look forward to our next visit. You can see more pictures from the tour on our Facebook pages.

The choir will be accompanied by a string quintet and the concert will feature our friends from the Gryphon Consort, a Ladies Chamber Choir coming over from Northern Ireland to perform alongside us in front of at least 2 Mayors, our new Sponsor, supporters, families and friends.

Of course, we’ll have full access to the Hotel’s lounge and bar facilities (and if the weather is kind, we can access the gardens outside the piano bar, overlooking the sea).

We’re very proud to be appearing at this prestigious venue and will be looking to stage a memorable performance, which will also feature our new recruits from our hugely successful Learn2Sing course.

Tickets are priced at £10 each and can be purchased either:

We have a very limited number of tickets remaining, so please reserve yours as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Bournemouth’s new Mayor, Cllr Chris Mayne has selected our choir as one the charities he will be supporting for the forthcoming year.

It is a huge honour for the choir and we look forward to working with the Mayor and the other charities he is supporting; Bournemouth Leukaemia Fund, Special Olympics Bournemouth and District, Bournemouth Young Men’s Christian Association and the Amelia-Grace fund for children with life-limiting illnesses.
