Charity Concert in Ferndown – An Update

We really enjoyed a report on the The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation website about our recent concert with Mousehole Male Voice Choir at St Mary’s Church, Ferndown to raise money for this very worthy charity!    It was a fantastic evening which raised an incredible £1481!

The charity posted

“St Mary’s Church was full to bursting for this wonderfully diverse programme. Beautiful harmonies, professional soloists and a spectacular venue captivated the audience who enjoyed a sensational performance by two very talented choirs. The retiring collection alone received an incredible £510 in donations which is testimony itself to a great evening. A huge thank you to all those who contributed.”

Packed house for the Samaritans

Christchurch Priory resounded with Vocal Music as Bournemouth’s Biggest Boy-Band joined forces with The Orlando Singers, Wessex Harmony and Fiona Aucott a local Soprano for an eclectic concert of vocal and choral music.

We really enjoyed sharing the stage with these talented and enthusiastic performers and look forward very much to working with them again.  The full house means that a goodly sum was raised in aid of The Samaritans.

Summer songs

Summer songs

Summer is almost here and means that Bournemouth’s Choir for Men is making preparations for this year’s Annual Concert. However, this year, the event comes with an added twist. Given the range and amount of talent we have within the group, we thought that this year we’d like to complement pieces from the full choir with some showcase performances from smaller groups singing music which is new to the choir’s repertoire. You might even be treated to some choristers revealing their talents for playing musical instruments!

It promises to be a rich and varied evening of musical performance which all involved with the choir are looking forward to immensely and we really hope you can join us in the wonderful De La Salle Theatre, Southbourne, to make it a memorable summer’s evening.

Tickets are available from choristers or via our Box Office Manager, Terry, by emailing (riglerterry@aol.com) or calling him on 07979591410 or 01202 020380.

Community Rhythms

St.Pauls Concert Nov 8thThe Choir is delighted to be able to support Community Rhythms, a charity which operates the community coffee shop at Adastral Square, Canford Heath which provides a central focus for community events.

Events currently running there include an Alpha course, a ‘cooking on a budget’ course, and a Ukulele Club to name but a few items within their busy Events Diary.
We will be performing at St Paul’s Church in Canford Heath on Saturday 8th November and tickets (priced £7.50)  are available from the Coffee House at Adastral Square, Canford Heath, or via the St. Paul’s Church Office on 01202 605311.
The Choir has rarely ventured to this part of our local area so we’ll be looking to make some new acquaintances!
