90th Season Celebrations

We are now a little over a week away from our next performance on Saturday 15th September on the Bournemouth Town Hall steps, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the first performance by the Choir, in 1912 (pictured). The Choir will be presented with a commemorative certificate by the Mayor of Bournemouth, Councillor Phil Stanley-Watts, who will then be offering a reception to our members.

We will gather at the Town Hall from 6pm, ready to perform at 6.30pm.

This promises to be an exciting event, with Poole’s Town Crier also in attendance!

Please could all media enquiries be routed via our contacts page

Happy Birthday Mark!

The Choir held the first rehearsal of its 90th season last night and it was great to be singing again! It also provided the Choir with an opportunity to celebrate our Musical Director, Mark Burstow’s birthday with him. One of our very kind supporters, Anita, made a superb cake which Choir Chairman, Mike Weaver, was delighted to present to him. Many happy returns Mark, from all your friends at BMVC!

Working with our Community

As we prepare ourselves for what is shaping up to be a busy and exciting schedule for our 90th anniversary year, we’ve been taking some time to look back through our archives. Only going back as far as 1999, it is really interesting to see the list of charities below, who we’ve worked with to raise a combined total in excess of £110,000. We are very proud of our association with these charities and look forward to working with a wide range of charitable organisations to assist them in their fundraising efforts in future.

If you think we could assist your organisation, please get in contact via the form on this site.

The Countdown Commences…

The eve of the choir’s 90th season is almost upon us, with little more than a week to go before our first rehearsal following our summer break.

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be joined by our newest member, Thalles, a very talented First Tenor.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, perhaps looking to take up a new hobby, then getting involved with the choir right from the start of this year’s rehearsals is an ideal time. We’d love to hear from you – please contact us using the form on this site.
