Gerry RamsdenGerry was bornĀ and grew up in Churwell, within jogging distance of Leeds United football ground in Elland Road.

The middle of three children, as a young boy he sang in the choir at All Saints Church in Churwell, where his father sang tenor and his uncle bass.

Having previously spent a holiday in Dorset in 1968, he fell in love with the area, so when a job opportunity arose in Wimborne, he successfully applied for it and moved to Dorset in 1970. He has been an Industrial Engraver all of his working life, first in Leeds and then in Wimborne.

He joined BMVC in February 2008 as a first tenor and is currently a Members Representative.

His hobbies have included: weight lifting, squash, karate and golf but now he enjoys the more sedate pastime of oil painting and remains a passionate Leeds United supporter.
