Forest Holme Hospice Concert

We were delighted to give a concert in aid of Forest Holme Hospice at St. Peter’s Church in Parkstone last Saturday evening (18 June 2016).  Forest Holme Hospice Charity (Registered Charity No. 1038021) was formed in 1994 to raise funds to support Forest Holme Hospice which would be used to enhance the quality of life for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

The charity support all aspects of the hospice including the 12 bedded in-patient ward, the purchasing of specialist equipment, the funding of additional staffing posts, complementary therapies and counselling and bereavement support to patients and their families. The charity has to raise £500,000 of voluntary donations each year to ensure that Forest Holme Hospice continues to be a centre of excellence for specialist end of life care in Poole, Wimborne and the Purbecks.

We had a great evening, singing a wide range of music.  Terrific solos from Graham Luker and two cracking ensembles from choir members too. The concert was organised by Parkstone Rotary Club who did a terrific job with the arrangements.  We look forward to supporting this charity again soon.
