Festive Cheer

Choir singing from the stairs at Sunrise

Christmas is certainly coming and it’s been a very busy few days for the Choir! Last Wednesday afternoon, a group of us went to entertain residents at Avon Lodge, Southbourne and then on Friday night, another group performed at the Freemasons’ Hall in Boscombe.

Today, we had a great time at Sunrise in Westbourne, where we were made to feel very welcome and were able to be present at the grand Christmas light switch-on! One of our first tenors, Harold Roper, enthralled the crowd with his rendition of ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square.’Harold Roper preforms a solo at Sunrise

We then made our way into Westbourne itself, where we performed as part of the Westbourne Traders’ Magical Christmas event. The guys sported their latest winter attire and certainly managed to catch shoppers’ attention!

The Choir now takes Sunday off (!), ready for its next engagement for the Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce at the Miramar Hotel and we’re looking forward to singing carols at Pelhams next weekend. Don’t forget, tickets are still available for our concert in the town centre on Saturday 15th December at Sacred Heart.
