Camels by Candlelight

And … relax! BMVC has now completed a hectic schedule of 18 engagements and 30 rehearsals since September and takes a well deserved break over Christmas.

Gaynor Morgan sings at Sacred HeartLast Saturday evening saw the much anticipated concert at Sacred Heart, where we performed in front of a very welcoming and appreciative audience. The Choir had never performed at the venue before, which given its spectacular interior and acoustic is a travesty! Our guest soloist, Gaynor Morgan, gave us two magical performances which will remain with us for much time to come and we send our heartfelt thanks to her for supporting this event.

On the following Sunday, we were a few yards down the hill in the Town Square, performing on stage in support of HopeFM’s Nativity Day. It was another fantastic opportunity for us to perform to the great Bournemouth public, who even provided dancers to accompany our Charleston-inspired finale, ‘Five Foot Two!’

And then, finally, a group of choristers led the Nativity parade around the streets of Bournemouth, performing carols in advance of a supporting cast of camels, donkeys and a few hundred citizens! The weather held off for a decent period, but a torrential downpour sadly brought proceedings to a premature close. Your hardy correspondent is, however, proud to report that BMVC was there to the very last, squeezed under an awning, (w)ringing out O Come All Ye Faithful, cheek by jowl with the aforementioned camels.
