Bangor Ladies and BMVC at St. Stephen’s, Bournemouth

The members of Bournemouth Male Voice Choir had a fabulous evening in the beautiful surroundings of St. Stephen’s Church in Bournemouth.  This architectural gem, situated in central Bournemouth is described by Rt. Revd. Michael Scott-Joynt, Bishop of Winchester thus “For over a century, Musical Excellence has been a tradition at St. Stephen’s and is a marvellous source of inspiration, spiritual refreshment and enjoyment”.  Quite a venue for a concert!

Our guests were the Bangor Ladies Choir from Northern Ireland who sang with a full, well focussed sound and great attention to detail in a wide range of music.  We also enjoyed their company after the concert, sharing a few songs and some refreshment in a more informal setting.  The concert was to raise money for the Church and a well filled nave means that a goodly amount has found its way to this very worthy cause.

We sang a wide range of music, including some Seal and Robbie Williams alongside the more serious music that Bournemouth Male Voice Choir so enjoy.  We even chanced a very risky Queen number during the Afterglow which was met with great approval … phew!

We had this lovely message from the Bangor Ladies Chair, Anne Poots  “It was a privilege for BLC  to share the stage with Bournemouth MVC – what fabulous performers and what a magnificent venue – and to have your and their company at the party later on was super!  I think we can safely say that a good night was had by all! The friendship and warmth shown to us by everyone was so lovely and  we felt very much at home with you all. ”  Anne, the privilege was all ours, we hope you come back to sing with us again soon and thank you for sharing your music with us.
