Much anticipation in the ranks of Bournemouth Male Voice Choir at the moment.  We have concerts in Bournemouth and Salisbury over the next few weeks; we are looking forward to sharing the stage with the St John Singers of Salisbury, (in Salisbury),  the Penzance Ladies Choir in Westbourne and Vintage Brass at Southbourne. But, it is nail-biting time as the choir travels to Bangor (County Down not North Wales!) for the 20th Bangor International Choral Festival.  Set in the beautiful seaside town of Bangor, just 15 miles from Belfast, this highly successful Festival offers classes in...

Audiences are offered year round varied entertainment from concerts, classic plays and rock bands, to large-scale musicals at affordable ticket prices. We’ll be back in rehearsal at Norwood Place, Bournemouth next...

Kicking off the celebrations in style

Members of the choir met in the grounds of Bournemouth Town Hall last evening (15th September 2012) to recreate the first performance of the choir; the members marked the events of 90 years ago to sing for the Mayor on the Town Hall steps. The Mayor of Bournemouth gave the choir with a certificate to mark their work in the community over the years and made a special presentation of his long service award to Brian Miles, former choir secretary and now Tours and Special Events Manager. The members were delighted to see a decent crowd of supporters wishing us well; the audience included our...

Fastest Chorister on Two Wheels

On September 8th 2012 choir bass Steve Blowers took part in a 200Km Pro Ride that followed the route of the first stage of this years Tour of Britain cycle race. This was fully supported ride giving riders the chance to experience the same conditions as the professional Tour riders. Steve did the distance of 127 miles in 7 hours and raised much needed funds for Help for Heroes.  Thanking those who sponsored him Steve said, “It was great cycling through the county of my birth. I was hammering along watching the tarmac and the wheel in front for a lot of...
